We’re top South Florida flooring contractors, so we install our fair share of restaurant flooring. Often, owners aim for aesthetic over everyday use. Durability, practicality, and ease of care are essential. After all, a beautiful floor that doesn’t last the year isn’t really beautiful anymore, is it? Some great options:

Tile Flooring

Tile is a stellar choice for restaurant flooring. It’s extremely durable, as well as easy to maintain. Spills are inevitable, so tile’s wipe-and-clean appeal allows it to retain its appearance well.  Commercial grade tile is both flame-resistant and slip-resistant, so it won’t be as slick as the average residential tile you might be used to.

Tile is on the more expensive side. Installation must be done carefully and can take longer than other floors – nonetheless, tile should not be rushed or breakage risk will increase.

Concrete Flooring

Concrete is on-trend – and yet it also has remarkable staying power. It can be acid stained and etched to look utterly beautiful. It’s a modern choice that’s exceptionally durable and easy to maintain. Concrete is resistant to crashes and falls, but it’s porous. This means it does need to regularly re-sealed in order to resist spills.

Important Note on Hard Restaurant Flooring

Because of their hardness, different tile and concrete choices aren’t always easy on joints and backs day after day. This is no problem for customers who are in your restaurant for an hour or two at a time, but consider rubber flooring or flooring mats in the kitchen so your staff ends their shifts with a lot fewer aches and pains.

Laminate Flooring

Laminate is a cost-effective and durable choice for restaurant flooring. It is also scratch- and slip- resistant. Because it can emulate other types of flooring and comes in a wide range of styles, you can get exactly what you want. It won’t stain easily – and if you don’t get to spills right away, stains can be removed even after a few days.

Experienced South Florida flooring contractors will help you make the right choice for your restaurant.
